I have spent the last week further
developing my product. I modelled my product on an issue of Empire magazine, and developed my skills on Photoshop and InDesign in order to mimic their style. I have learned during this time how to create shapes on
the page in InDesign, and how to change the colour of these shapes and change the corners.
I have also learned how to edit the stroke on text, and change the colour of
this stroke to create blocks of contrasting colour that highlight my text.
However, I had to save a different version
of my DPS a few days before the deadline, and make edits to the layout,
colour and text. This is because I did not feel my product fit the magazine genre as well as it could. These edits are in progress.

| This shows my product in InDesign, as I am making additional adjustments to it. Here, you can see how I have used the stroke tool to 'highlight' the text in white rather than just filling in the text box in block colour, and how I have created a rectangular shape and filled it with colour. I then adjusted the corners of the shape so that they were curved, and changed the first letter to a drop cap. I will continue to edit my product further in order for it to be more fitting of the genre. |

| This is the cover of my product, which is now complete. I am unlikely to be making any more edits on this, and will focus instead on my DPS. In order to complete this, I learned how to rotate font, change shape opacity and use guides to keep the different sections of text parallel. These skills are evident with the button sell, and the three sell lines towards the bottom of the page. I also learned how to place another image into the document, and used this knowledge to insert a bar code in an appropriate place, and rotate and move it until I was pleased with where it was situated. |
